Joe Battaglia
Joe Battaglia is the founder and president of Renaissance Communications, a media company whose mission is to provide media platforms for gifted communicators of Biblical truth. Current clients include Prison Fellowship, Dr. Steve Brown and the Key Life Radio Network, Affirm Films/Sony Pictures Entertainment, Provident Films, PureFlix Entertainment, actress Shari Rigby, and Jeanne Nigro Ministries.
Joe is an executive producer and General Manager of the nationally syndicated radio program “Keep the Faith,” the #1 faith-based music radio show in the country, heard nationally in over 300 markets and numerous countries overseas with a weekly audience of 2 million.
Renaissance has been involved in the promotion of successful hit movies to the faith-based marketplace, such as The Passion, The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe, The Polar Express, Facing the Giants, Fireproof, Courageous, Soul Surfer, Son of God, God’s Not Dead, Heaven Is For Real,
Prior to forming Renaissance in 1992, Joe was vice-president of Communicom Corp. of America, the parent company of WWDJ/New York, WZZD/Philadelphia and KSLT/San Antonio. He was with Communicom for 18 years, eight as General Manager of the flagship station WWDJ from 1982-1990. From 1979-1995, Battaglia also was a partner in Living Communications, parent company of WLIX, Long Island and WLVX, Hartford, CT.
Joe served on the board of the Gospel Music Association (GMA) for 19 years, and 14 years as Chairman of the Steering Committee for the National Christian Radio Seminar (now renamed CMB), a division of the Gospel Music Association.
Joe graduated magna cum laude from Boston University with a Bachelor of Science in Journalism in 1972. He put his journalistic background to quick use by starting the first Christian publication in New York metro market in 1973, Alternatives Magazine, which he published until 1980.
Joe is the author of A New Suit for Lazarus, published by Thomas Nelson; The Politically Incorrect Jesus: Living Boldly in a Culture of Unbelief; That’s My Dad! and Fathers Say, published by BroadStreet Publishing.

The Churches Making Movies Red Carpet Event is the place to be on Friday, October 11th at 6:30 pm. The seventh annual event is a festival tradition where festival goers mingle with filmmakers, actors, producers, and directors during a night that includes food, a regional premiere film, a renowned speaker, and entertainment.
